Compassion in Action: Piedmont's Empowering Community Outreach

Every year, Piedmont Moving Systems is committed to giving back to their communities. Most recently, the company has donated to Operation Freedom Paws, Amy’s Walk to Defeat ALS - Team SUGI’s HERO’s, and to The Rüdiger Foundation in an effort to support those in need.

“We just love our community and are so thankful we can help in some way.” -  Owner, Tabatha Beltramo

Operation Freedom Paws

The dogs are trained to help veterans with a variety of tasks, such as providing emotional support, helping with mobility, and alerting to medical emergencies. These dogs give veteran heroes, and their families hope.

“We are very grateful for your donation. It has helped us assist our disabled clients and their families, which of course include their service dogs. The attached letter includes a photo and testimonial written by an OFP-certified service dog team.On behalf of the team in this letter and all the other OFP service dog teams, THANK YOU for your generous support of the clients and dogs of Operation Freedom Paws!” - OFP Staff, Janet Wenholz

The Walk to Defeat ALS - Amy's Walk to Defeat ALS

Amy’s Walk to Defeat ALS is a fundraising event that supports research into a cure for ALS. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. There is currently no cure for ALS, but research is ongoing. The Walk to Defeat ALS strives to bring hope, awareness, and resources to families in need.

“I wanted to THANK YOU for your generous personal gift to Amy’s Walk to Defeat ALS, Team SUGI’s HERO’s. Your investment is much appreciated and will have a significant impact defeating ALS. With all nonprofits we are mission driven but revenue dependent. We will do whatever it takes to, ensure people with ALS have access to effective treatments, and cases of ALS are being prevented, empower people with ALS to engage with the world in the way they want, reduce the physical, emotional, and financial burden of living with ALS, ensure ALL people with ALS and their caregivers receive high quality services that benefit them. Our Mission: To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.” - Interim Territory Executive, Patrick Dunlap

Piedmont’s donation to Amy’s Walk to Defeat ALS will help the organization fund more research into a cure for ALS.

The Rüdiger Foundation

The Rüdiger Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps provide K9s to local law enforcement agencies in Nevada County, California. The foundation was founded in 2017 in memory of Rüdiger, the K9 partner of Nevada City Police Officer Sean M. Walsh, who was killed in the line of duty in 2015. The Rüdiger Foundation is funded entirely by donations from individuals and businesses. The foundation has no paid staff and minimal overhead, so every donated dollar goes directly to support the K9 program.

Piedmont’s $10,000 donation to The Rüdiger Foundation will help the foundation provide K9s to local law enforcement & various K9 resources helping keep our communities safe.
